Park Road Pool now open

Managing Editor

Park Road Pool, 906 N. Park Road, opened Monday, June 25.
The city had planned to open the pool on June 18, but a circulation pump failed, delaying the opening by a week.

“It was quite a challenge to complete the pump replacement and new piping...We regret any disappointment or inconvenience this caused our citizens,” said Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Director Mike Stone. “Many thanks to the YMCA and staff who were able to quickly replace the pump and have the pool back up and operating with minimum down time.”

The Park Road Pool is one of three Spokane Valley pools open for enjoyment this summer. The two other pools are Valley Mission Pool at 11123 E. Mission Ave. and Terrace View Pool at 13525 E. 24th Ave.

The pools offer a variety of swim features for children and adults. Entry fee is generally $1 per person, per session; however this summer, every pool will offer one free afternoon open swim session weekly through Aug. 22. The program is sponsored by the Spokane Parks Foundation/Make-a-Splash in a Kid’s Life. The free open swim sessions are scheduled as follows:

Park Road Pool – every Monday, 1-5 p.m.
Terrace View Pool – every Tuesday, 1:15-5 p.m.
Valley Mission Pool – every Wednesday, 1-5 p.m.
