John Hohman has been appointed deputy city manager for the city of Spokane Valley. His appointment was announced by City Manager Mark Calhoun at the Tuesday City Council meeting.
"John is uniquely qualified to serve in his new position," said Calhoun.
In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Loyola Marymount University, Hohman has served the city of Spokane Valley for 14 years.
Hohman joined the city in 2003 as one of the first employees hired after incorporation. Since 2011, he has been serving as director of community and economic development. He spent four years prior to that as the development services manager in that department, and four years as a senior engineer in the public works department. His prior experience includes work in both the public and private sectors.
