There's still time for you to apply for an opening on the city of Spokane Valley Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.
Applications from representatives of organizations that attract visitors to Spokane Valley will be accepted through today (Friday) to fill a recently vacated term on the LTAC through Dec. 31, 2015.
The LTAC is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations for funding of efforts that help bring visitors and tourism dollars to the city of Spokane Valley. The five-member committee is comprised of two representatives of businesses required to collect the lodging tax, two representatives of organizations qualified to receive funding from the lodging tax, and a member of the City Council.
Committee members need not be residents of the City of Spokane Valley.
Representatives of businesses, organizations or events that meet the qualifications are also encouraged to send committee recommendations.
Appointment to the LTAC will be made by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Lodging Tax Advisory Committee members are volunteers who do not receive compensation other than the knowledge that they are contributing to the economic vitality and future of Spokane Valley.
An application form can be found on the city's Web site at spokanevalley.org/volunteer. Applications are also available at City Hall or by contacting City Clerk Chris Bainbridge at the phone number or email address below.
