Sullivan bridge resurfacing underway

Managing Editor

The project to resurface the deteriorated concrete deck of the southbound Sullivan Road bridge that crosses over the Union Pacific Railroad tracks just south of Marietta is set to begin on Aug. 12.
Construction is expected to take about three weeks, winding up in September.
During construction, traffic across the bridge will be reduced to a single lane in each direction around the clock.
Drivers should expect congestion and delays along Sullivan near the UPRR bridge. Those whose destinations are outside the project area are encouraged to use alternative routes.
The project is 100-percent funded by a Federal Bridge Grant.
