On Saturday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m., Friends of Pavillion Park will present a concert featuring five-time Grammy Award winner, bluesman Robert Cray.
Cray has been internationally admired as a stylist whose innovations have brought new life to the blues, and such punchy outings as “Chicken in the Kitchen” and “That’s What Keeps Me Rockin’”
Admission to the performance is free. Audiences are encouraged to show up with family and friends prior to the appointed start time with lowback chairs, blankets, a picnic supper and enjoy the evening.
Concessions will be available through the Liberty Lake Kiwanis.
Pavillion Park is located at 727 N. Molter Road.
Recently inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame at the age of 57,Cray is one of the youngest living legends to receive the prestigious honor. Rolling Stone credits Cray with reinventing the blues with his “distinct razor sharp guitar playing” that “introduced a new generation of mainstream rock fans to the language and form of the blues” with the release of his ‘Strong Persuader ‘ album in 1986.
