Those interested in the various offices open for election can file either online or in person next week.
Filing can be done from 9 a.m. Monday, May 13, through 4 p.m. on Friday, May 17.
Names of candidates will appear on Spokane County Election's Web site at spokanecounty.org/elections as a candidate for the office filed once the Declaration of Candidacy has been received and validated.
To file online, the following is required:
- You must be a registered voter in the district for which you are filing;
- You may pay with a credit card online
- You may pay your filing fee with cash or check in the Spokane County Elections Office Monday through Friday, May 13 through May 17, during our normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (If paying by check, it must be received by Spokane County Elections no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013. Your Declaration of Candidacy will not be validated until your filing fee has been paid.)
You must have a valid e-mail address.
Spokane County in-person filing closes Friday, May 17, at 4 p.m.

The Spokane County Elections Office will be providing an Online Voters Guide for the Primary and General Elections. After your Declaration of Candidacy has been validated, you will receive a separate e-mail notification describing how to submit your candidate statement and photograph.
Persons lacking sufficient funds to pay the filing fee and choosing to submit a filing fee petition must file in person during filing week with the Spokane County Elections, 1033 W Gardner Ave, Spokane, WA 99260.
Knowingly providing false information on a Declaration of Candidacy is a class C felony as provided by RCW 29A.84.711.
